Bachelor of Arts from Gardner-Webb University (1976);
Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1979)

Keith joined our staff, coming from Flint Hill Baptist Church, Shelby, where he served as pastor since 1985. His wife, Mary Ruth, is owner and operator of Dorothy's Stamps-n-Scraps in Boiling Springs . They have two sons: Jeremy is working for Sun Trust Bank in Raleigh . Jacob is working for Maersk Shipping in Charlotte and presently studying for his MBA at GWU.
Keith held numerous positions within our Association prior to being called as our Associational Missionary. He has served in various capacities with Gardner-Webb University, Wingate University, Christian Service Organization, Boiling Springs YMCA, Crawley Hospital, and the Disaster Pastor Program. Also he has held positions with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.

The Southern Baptist Convention's benefits entity has joined the growing chorus of evangelical and Roman Catholic voices publicly protesting the Obama administration's mandate that health insurance plans cover contraceptives, including ones that can cause abortions. "This encroachment of religious freedom is blatant and outrageous and should be taken seriously by those of us who are part of the body of believers, as well as by others who respect and regard this nation's history and constitutional foundation," GuideStone President O.S. Hawkins said in a written statement.
